Product Overview
The Dell PowerVault ME5224 is the 24-bay small-form-factor member of the ME5 Next Gen family, a 2U block storage array aimed at businesses that want SSD density and 10K SAS performance in a compact footprint. It runs the same dual-active controller architecture on Intel Xeon processors with 24GB of total cache — 8GB per controller plus 16GB shared — and supports single- or dual-controller configurations with hot-swappable controllers throughout. Twenty-four 2.5" bays take 10K SAS and SSD media including FIPS self-encrypting drives, making it well suited to all-flash and hybrid-flash builds. With ME512, ME524 or ME584 expansion enclosures attached over 12Gb SAS the array scales non-disruptively to 276 drives, and the full software stack is included with no additional licensing.
