Proven entry-level SAN at secondary-market pricing. The Dell EMC PowerVault ME4024 offers 24 SFF bays, dual-active 8GB cache controllers and a choice of Fibre Channel, iSCSI or SAS connectivity in 2U — a well-supported prior-generation array that scales to 336 drives.

The Dell EMC PowerVault ME4024 is a 2U, 24-bay small-form-factor block storage array from the prior-generation ME4 series, purpose-built for price-sensitive SAN and DAS environments and still widely deployed. It uses a dual-active controller architecture with 8GB of cache per controller on Intel processors, and supports single- or dual-controller configurations — though expansion enclosures require dual controllers. Connectivity is handled through Dell's Converged Network Controller modules, offering 16Gb Fibre Channel or 10Gb iSCSI, 10Gbase-T iSCSI, or 12Gb SAS. Twenty-four 2.5" bays mix HDDs and SSDs for all-flash or hybrid-flash builds with three-tier auto-tiering, and up to nine ME412/ME424 enclosures or three ME484 dense enclosures extend the array to 336 drives. All software is included with no separate licensing, managed through the HTML5 ME Storage Manager.
