The Dell Precision 5860 Tower is a single-socket workstation built around the Intel Xeon W-2400 series, positioned below the 7960 Tower for teams that need genuine workstation capability without flagship cost. Processor options span the w3, w5 and w7 tiers from 6 cores up to the 24-core w7-2495X, all within a 225W thermal envelope. Eight DIMM slots on a quad-channel architecture carry up to 2TB of DDR5 ECC memory. Five PCIe expansion slots support up to two professional graphics cards from NVIDIA or AMD, reaching the NVIDIA RTX A6000 48GB, and storage combines two internal 3.5" bays, two onboard M.2 slots and two front FlexBays for additional NVMe or SATA devices, expandable further with Dell Ultra-Speed Drive Quad and Duo PCIe cards. Networking is unusually generous for the class, with both 1GbE and 10GbE RJ-45 ports on the rear alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
