The Dell PowerEdge R570 brings the single-socket Intel Xeon 6 platform into a 2U chassis, adding storage bays, PCIe expansion and serious GPU capability over the 1U R470 while staying on one processor for cost efficiency. Dell describes the R470 and R570 as purpose-built to maximize efficiency and affordability with optimized single-socket servers, with the R570 targeted at medium-density virtualization, scale-out databases, big data and analytics, VDI, high performance compute and software-defined storage. One Intel Xeon 6 processor delivers up to 144 E-cores or 86 P-cores, with 16 DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 1TB using E-cores or 4TB using P-cores at speeds to 6400 MT/s. Storage is broad — up to 12x 3.5", 24x 2.5", or 8, 16 and 32-bay EDSFF E3.S Gen5 NVMe configurations with a 4-bay rear cage, reaching 32 NVMe drives. The standout is accelerator support: three 400W double-width GPUs or four 75W single-width cards, which is unusual for a single-socket 2U server and makes the R570 a practical inference platform.
