Dell PowerEdge R470

The Dell PowerEdge R470 is Dell's entry 1U single-socket 17G rack server, built on Intel Xeon 6 processors with up to 144 E-cores for dense, energy-efficient compute. Dell positions the R470 and R570 as purpose-built to maximize efficiency and affordability with optimized single-socket servers, delivering power-packed performance for cloud-scale web and app microservices, data services, virtualization and scale-out databases — with the R470 also called out for big data, analytics, high performance compute and edge deployments. One processor supports either up to 144 E-cores, or up to 86 P-cores with the R1S option, and Dell cites 2.57x more cores per processor than the previous generation along with up to 2.18x faster memory speed on DDR5. Sixteen DDR5 DIMM slots carry up to 1TB with E-cores or 4TB with P-cores at speeds to 6400 MT/s. Storage runs to 8x 2.5" SAS/SATA/NVMe, 4x 3.5", or 8 and 16-bay EDSFF E3.S configurations with a 2-bay rear cage, for up to 16 NVMe drives.
